Dave’s drumming journey began at age 11, honing his skills with Mike Greaves at Great Moor Junior School before advancing to the Stockport Schools Brass Band. There, he continued to flourish under the guidance of both Mike and Bob Wyatt. His youth banding years were marked by memorable highlights, including several foreign tours and a special performance at the iconic Royal Albert Hall.
In 1989, after attending Salford College, Dave joined the Poynton Brass Band. Over the next three decades, he enjoyed numerous contest and concert successes with conductors like Alan Lawton and, more recently, Rifters’ own trombonist Neil.
Dave began a new chapter with the Rifters in 2024 where he’s enjoying the freedom to explore different styles of drumming.
